How to read Sentalysis data
Sentalysis puts three kinds of data side by side: price, the Attention Interest Oscillator and social media discussion. They measure different things. Here is what each reading means, what the chart views show, and what none of them can tell you.
1 · The reading
What an Attention Interest Oscillator reading means
The AIO is Sentalysis's proprietary indicator of public attention to a keyword, on a 0–100 scale. It tells you how much attention a topic is drawing; it does not tell you why.
A higher reading means the keyword is drawing more attention than it usually does. The most useful comparison is always a keyword with its own past: has attention to Recession risen this month, and is that unusual for Recession?
Comparing raw readings across keywords is less meaningful. The same number for Bitcoin and for Recession does not mean the two drew the same amount of attention, which is why the Z-score view exists.

2 · The views
Three views of the same data
The chart, the data alerts and the composite preview offer the same three views. None of them changes the data; each answers a different question about it.
Raw: how much?
The reading itself. The optional log view compresses the largest spikes so smaller moves stay visible.
Z-score: how unusual?
How far the reading sits from its recent average, in standard deviations. +2 is unusually high for that keyword and window.
EMA: which way?
A smoothed line that follows the trend while giving the most weight to recent readings.

Same data, three baselines
The window decides what counts as unusual
Bitcoin attention under three Z-score windows. A longer window remembers more of the past, so a reading has to be rarer to stand out, and a genuine outlier scores higher. The Z-score guide walks through why.
3 · Composites
Custom indexes blend the keywords you choose
A custom index combines two to five keywords, each counting in proportion to the weight you give it. It can be charted in every view and used in alerts, like any keyword.
An index carries the strengths and limits of its parts. Changing a weight changes the question you ask of the data; it does not add new information. See composite indexes.
4 · Limits
What each kind of data can and cannot tell you
Price, attention and discussion are three different lenses. Keeping them apart is what makes comparing them useful.

Questions and answers
What is the Attention Interest Oscillator?
The Attention Interest Oscillator (AIO) is Sentalysis's proprietary indicator of public attention to a keyword. It is shown on a 0–100 scale beside the price of the asset you choose.
What does a high reading mean?
That the keyword is drawing a lot of attention compared with its own past. Read each keyword against itself: the same number on two different keywords does not mean they drew the same amount of attention.
Why does a reading look different in another timeframe or view?
Each view answers a different question. Raw shows the level, a Z-score shows how unusual it is against a recent baseline, and an EMA smooths short-term noise. Changing the timeframe or the Z-score window changes the baseline, so the same moment can stand out more or less.
Can recent readings change?
Yes. The latest readings can be updated as new data arrives, so the most recent hours are best treated as a first look.
Does the AIO predict prices?
No. It measures attention, which can rise with excitement, worry or curiosity. Similar timing between attention and price does not establish cause, and Sentalysis provides no trading signals or price predictions.
